U14 and U16 GIRLS teams post big wins in practice match
Girls from both U16 girls sides shake hands after the match.

A big thank you to EDFL junior club West Coburg Saints who came to Allard Park last Sunday to play in a practice match against our GIRLS teams. Both Giants sides came away with wins and gave cause for optimism in the upcoming YJFL season which kicks off on Sunday 3 April.

First up was our U14 GIRLS team who will coached again by club legend Trevor Ackland. Last season, these girls struggled early but demonstrated improvement over the course of the year culminating in a thumping victory over Richmond (Black) JFC in the final round of the home and away season. Both sides endeavour was exemplary and many onlookers thought the girls had played their best match ever and are excited about the upcoming YJFL season. Final score:
North Brunswick Giants U14 Girls 9.7 (61)
West Coburg Saints U14 Girls 1.1 (7)

2021 Leading Goalkicker, Hanna Rennie, slots one of her five goals for the match.

The second match was between North Brunswick U16 GIRLS and their West Coburg counterpart. Despite missing star defender Lily Douglas and last year's YJFL B&F winner Tessa Verdon Black, the Giants girls comprehensively accounted for Saints girls in just about every department. The match was of very high quality and both sides featured league representative players. After an even first quarter, the Giants broke away and never looked back. Final score:
North Brunswick Giants U16 Girls 9.11 (65)
West Coburg Saints U16 Girls 2.1 (13)

U16 Girls Geogie Pettit slots one from outside the goal square.
New girl Ineka kick one of her three goals for the match
